Tim's marathon challenge - training update

After some treatment from Mark at Bodylimits I'm ready for the MK half, this time last year I was unable to race due to my shoulder operation....oh how time fliss and bodies heal.

I collect Dave and Angus and head over to the race, weather is a bit poor, icy winds but loads of sun. As per normal I give my word to Sarah that I will take it easy as it's only a training run, as soon as the gun goes the race head is on!! I'm off like a shot and the legs are feeling great, I fly round the first 6 miles and pass a few faces, which is always good.

At mile 7 I bump into Martin and the training run is out of the window as we have old scores to settle!! We both do the little sideways look and then the banter stops and the pace goes up a notch, I race with Martin for 4-5 miles then have to remind myself that the Pembrokeshire marathon is the following weekend so drop the pace a little. I cross the line in 1:33 which is the second fastest time to date, happy but warn out I now need to get ready for round 5 of the CTS......

Totally nuts - the concept of running a marathon as part of training just doesn't make sense to me! Amazing challenge, all the best for your training.

3 marathons in 7 weeks - you're definitely a muscle hero then! Can't wait to hear the next installment...
