Tesco staff are celebrating the success of the 2009 Corporate Purchasing Marketing Services Go-Kart Grand Prix, which took place in Hertfordshire over 175 hours in May.
A total of 125 petrol-headed drivers and Tesco staff satisfied their need for speed in 25 teams while 15 Tesco suppliers joined in to provide sponsorship for the event. Everyone really went the extra mile for fundraising, with the teams completing 4124 laps between them - just over 2984.5 miles! Hertford Offset was the winning team, stepping on the gas to complete 197 laps in 7 hours.
The event was a driving force for charity, raising a fantastic £6000 for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign's Giving children equipment to be independent campaign.
