Losing pounds to raise pounds
Wednesday 29 July 2009
Twenty-two stone Store Manager Martin Butcher has decided to embark on a huge personal challenge to raise over £5,000 for children with muscle wasting disease in the North East as well as improve his own health.
Martin, who works in Newton Aycliffe Extra in County Durham, is aiming to lose an astonishing 4 stone in a sponsored slim for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign. As well as improving his own wellbeing, Martin has a very personal reason for supporting the Charity of the Year partnership:
I want to get involved in fundraising for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign as my auntie died of this disease 20 years ago. It has always remained with me, watching how cruel this disease can be and how helpless my auntie gradually became.
Martin has changed his entire diet, lifestyle and exercise regime in order to shed the pounds and we wish him the best of luck with this life-changing challenge!
