Club soft drinks launch thirst-quenching summer promotion

Tuesday 18 August 2009

Tesco's Newtownbreda store in Northern Ireland received a special visitor as 19-year-oldJoin our Club! Michaela Hollywood launched a thirst-quenching summer promotion run by Club soft drinks that will raise money for the Giving children equipment to be independent campaign.

For every two litre bottle of Club sold in Tesco stores across Northern Ireland until 25 August, manufacturers Britvic NI will make a donation of 10p to the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign's Tesco Charity of the Year 2009 partnership.  With each bottle on sale for just £1 the promotion is set to raise a fantastic £15,000.

Nineteen-year-old Michaela Hollywood from Crossgar, who has spinal muscular atrophy, launched the promotion at Tesco Newtownbreda on behalf of the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign, meeting Britvic and Tesco staff, and encouraging local shoppers to go Club crazy to support the charity.

Launching the promotion, Michaela said:
I'm really pleased that Club soft drinks will be making such an incredible donation to the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign and giving people in Northern Ireland that chance to support the charity through their weekly shop.  This money will help provide equipment for children and young people like me who have muscle disease so I hope that every Tesco customer will add a bottle to their shopping trolley this August and help us smash our target!

Karla Quinn, Club Brand Manager for Britvic Northern Ireland said:
