Off-road bikers’ marathon effort
Friday 18 September 2009
A twelve-strong team of cyclists from Tesco in North Shields biked through 26 miles of woodland last weekend to raise £1,000 for the Giving children equipment to be independent campaign.
The marathon journey took place around Kielder Water and Forest Park near Newcastle last weekend. The dozen bikers pedalled through some of the most remote woodland in the country, taking in the beautiful landscapes, range of wildlife and stunning outdoor art collection around the outdoor lake.
The team had been training for their fundraising effort by taking part in a strict 'cycle to work' routine and their preparation paid off as all twelve members of the team completed their circuit.
A huge thank you and congratulations goes to Ian Davison, James Delaney, Nicholas Eley, Jenifer Tully, Adam Percy, Michael Rowe, Dinah Rowe, Darren Stobart, Richard Wilson, David Young, Pete Wedd and Daniel Davison!
