Tesco runners stride out for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign

Friday 18 September 2009

With the Great North Run taking place in Newcastle this weekend there are many people pulling oPaul nears the finish line of the Bristol Half Marathonn their trainers to get running for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign.  Amongst the 54,000 athletes, fundraisers and people wearing fancy dressed will be 20 Tesco staff running as part of the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign's 220-strong orange team.

But it's not just in the North East where our runners have been pounding the streets in the name of sponsorship.  Paul Groves, Store Manager at Tesco Carmarthen, took part in the Bristol Half Marathon earlier this month, completing the 13.1 mile course along the banks of the Avon and through the city centre streets in a hugely impressive time of 1 hour 45 minutes to raise £1,000 for the Giving children equipment to be independent campaign.

If you'd like to pull on a Muscular Dystrophy Campaign running vest then call the Tesco Hotline on 0845 872 9058 to find out how you can get involved.

The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign wishes good luck to all our runners this weekend!
