Tesco Worcester Warndon played host to a team endurance battle as the community came Murray meets the Worcester Wolves basketball team mascot!together to help a local family raise funds for the Charity of the Year partnership.

Twelve-year-old Murray Field was diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy in 2005.  Since then, Murray and his parents, Jane and Mark, have become key Muscular Dystrophy Campaign ambassadors, setting up their own group called Murray's Muscles to support the charity's fundraising and campaigning work across the West Midlands.

For this special challenge, Murray's Muscles joined forces with their local Tesco to set up two treadmills in store for a ten hour stretch. Twenty teams of up to six runners then went head to head in hourly shifts for the duration to rack up a distance of more than five marathons between them!

Local schools, fire fighters, police, car dealerships, charity volunteers and even the Worcester Warriors rugby union team and Worcester Wolves basketball squad all took part to raise £1,600 in donations and sponsorship.
