Budding journalist gets help with studies
Charity of the Year funds make a huge difference in many different ways, not just in helping mobility.
Nineteen-year-old Michaela Hollywood from Crossgar Northern Ireland is studying for an HND in broadcast journalism and was awarded a new £1,400 custom-built laptop with speech recognition software to help with her coursework.
After receiving her laptop, Michaela said:
Due to my muscle weakness, I cannot remove a lid from a pen or write for longer than five minutes at a time. It’s fantastic to have the extra help with my studies from the speech recognition software on my new laptop. It makes everything so much quicker and easier.
